What’s New for Construction….

After 6 years of constant improvement in construction techniques, it gets increasingly harder to improve Aggression Kiteboards. But in our quest to continue to develop the lightest, strongest boards on the market, we came up with even more technological breakthroughs this year.
Multiple density foam core:

All Aggression Kiteboards will have foam cores composed of different density closed cell foam ranging from 5 lb to 15 lb. We developed a method to replace the medium density foam with super high density foam in critical stress areas in the core of the board. This allows us to maximize the strength while minimizing the weight. Almost all kiteboard breakage comes from the degradation of the cores structural integrity. With our new process and core design, we can virtually eliminate all board breakage in even the most extreme conditions (like flat landing huge kiteloops) without adding any weight to the board. These new high density, closed cell (water proof)PVC based cores are much more resilient and durable than any other board core on the market today.
Specialty woven fabrics to withstand the specific loading on a kiteboard:

We get all our laminates specially woven around the design of a kiteboard. All the fibers in our laminates work together to increase the both the tip to tip flex, strength and torsional flex. This also give the boards a snappier feel and much better pop off the water. With our specialty weaves we create a fiberglass laminate that is up to 50% stronger than a plain weave carbon laminate of the same weight and much more impact resistant than carbon on the same weight.
Cadnium plated stainless steel inserts:
Almost nothing is worse than stripping out the insert on a new kiteboard or having a bolt rust in the board. We have worked directly with our US based insert manufacturer for over 2 years to develop the perfect kiteboard insert. We have 304 stainless steel inserts that use a cadmium plating technique designed for the US Navy to completely prevent corrosion. These inserts are much harder than brass to prevent stripping and will not corrode even after years of use in very corrosive salt water.
Resin formulated for kiteboarding conditions:
We have our resin specially made by a leading snowboard resin manufacturer in the US. Standard epoxy resin is only stable up to 120 deg F. Ours, with the proper post cure is stable to 200 deg F. A kiteboard lying in the sun on a hot beach can get up to 140 deg F and a kiteboard inside a car sitting in the sun can exceed 160 deg F. Normal resin at these temperatures loses its strength which can lead to kiteboards warping and pockets of resin gassing off creating bubbles under the skin. Both of these not only affect the performance and appearance of a kiteboard, but can lead to premature composite failure. Our new resins with super high heat deflection temperatures total eliminates any chance of issues related to the heat.
Flex Tips:
We have continued one of the biggest update from last year, the flexi Tip construction. This construction adds a new flex profile to our boards that can handle more power, smoothes out the chop and absorbs much of the impact of huge landings form powered moves that are sweeping the sport.
Other:
We have also made a small adjustment to our rocker making them faster while increasing the active surface area of the board. This allows you to ride a smaller board than you are used, while maintaining the same amount of control and performance you have come to expect from you Custom Aggression Kiteboards.
We have also thrown ourselves into making the highest performing light wind Machines o n the market. Our NEW Flat rocker is flat enough to get you going in the lightest of wind, yet favorable enough to edge though higher winds. It is truly the perfect balance for light wind performance. No more Sumo sized kites, use your current kites and extend your wind range with our Light wind machines.
Our Barn Door was based off the idea of using skim boards in light wind. With our design you will be able to pull all the same tricks you do in higher winds since you can plane fast and build up the important apparent winds you need to ride in the light stuff.
What sets Aggression kiteboards apart from other kiteboards?
They are much lighter (average 4 to 5 lbs.), stronger, incredible pop, faster, super tough top and bottom skins, great graphics and much more controllable in all conditions. Due to my shapes and designed flex in the tips it is very rare for even a beginner to lose an edge on my boards. They are boards that you don’t have to get used to- you just get on them and ride. They feel like they have been on your feet all your life from the moment you first step on them.
The top and bottom sheets are extremely durable plastic with high strength as well. The boards are shaped to allow for more flex in the tips where it is needed and much less in the middle of the board, where you want the rocker to stay consistent through the heavy gusts.
Construction Notes :
- ABS sidewalls and PBT skins for incredible durability
- Specially woven glass laminate for maximum impact resistance and smoother rides through chop and incredible pop
- Full single concave bottom for faster planning, smoother ride and unstoppable edging (Super Phatty and Barn Door comes with a flat bottom)
- Specially designed tip flex for softer landings and more pop and a stiffer center for added speed, acceleration and control in gusts
- Multiple density divinycell core
- Full stainless steel cadmium plated bomb proof inserts- Re-enforced fin inserts
